On November 18th from 1-4:30, Atiq: Jewish Maker Institute in collaboration with Lehrhaus Judaica and the Contemporary Jewish Museum will be presenting a Jewish Maker Summit in advance of Hanukkah. The summit will take place at the Contemporary Jewish Museum. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/make-hanukkah-a-pre-hanukkah-maker-summit-tickets-868189779
The Maker Summit is geared towards adults but open to participants ages 10 and up. It will involve 5 simultaneous maker workshops, each designed and facilitated by a team of a master educator and an experienced maker/artist. Facilitators include: Deena Aranoff, Yosef Rosen, Ariel Mayse, Peretz Wolf-Prusan, Arielle Tonkin, Tamar Zaken, Daniel Barash, Jessica Tamar Deutsch, Natan Kuchar and Dorielle Parker -- a truly incredible group of artists and educators!
No prior background in making or Judaism is necessary (you don't need to be Jewish to participate!), and participants will leave with a sacred item/object to share with family and friends on Hanukkah, and a deeper appreciation of the opportunities of meaning within the holiday.
For maker educators this event would be an amazing way to get a sense of our take on weaving together meaning making and making, and also deeper insight into a key Jewish holiday!
Would love to have you join us, and please feel free to share the info with anyone who might be interested! Info and registration here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/make-hanukkah-a-pre-hanukkah-maker-summit-tickets-868189779
